A dramatic and sculptural armchair dating to the early 20th century, this piece melds Queen Anne and Chippendale silhouettes with Hollywood Regency panache. The black lacquered frame is accented with gilt highlights and features elaborately carved shell and foliate motifs at both the crest and seat apron. The curvaceous arms and cabriole legs end in pad feet, lending a sinuous, feminine quality to its form.
CONDITION NOTES: Paint is chippy with dings and loss. Several hairline cracks to back rest. Some movement to back rest. Would recommend this for light/decorative use.
