Antique, handmade, marbled-glazed terracotta canister with lid originally used for preserving foods such as artichokes, eggplants, peppers or anchovies in olive oil or brine. This one is a rare find due to its green accents added to the glaze and also for its lid which is still intact.
Found in Grottaglie, Puglia. Circa early 1900's
