Late 18th Century European Painted Pine Blanket Chest

Late 18th to early 19th century European pine blanket chest featuring hand-cut dovetail joinery, original hand-forged iron strap hinges, and painted folk art decoration. The chest retains a beautifully worn surface with rich patina developed over generations of use.

Constructed from wide pine planks, the chest includes an interior till compartment for smaller storage items and rests on turned bun feet. The painted decoration appears on three sides, indicating the chest was intended to sit against a wall in the traditional manner.
