A beautifully timeworn early 19th-century English country chest of drawers, dating to approximately 1800–1820. This four-drawer form features a warm ochre painted finish accented by delicate ebonized, faux bamboo linework.

Crafted with fine hand-cut dovetail joinery, the chest reflects skilled cabinetmaking of the period. The current turned wooden knobs are later replacements.

Subtle shaping at the apron and bracket feet nods to earlier Georgian influence, interpreted here in a more restrained, provincial manner.
